Actor danush who was involved in a bitter paternity battle, is finally got verdict in favour The case has been dismissed by the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court.

An elderly couple, R. Kathiresan (65) and K. Meenakshi (53) of Melur near here had filed the maintenance case by claiming that Dhanush was their was their third son K. Kalaichelvan who dropped out of Class XI in 2002 and went to Chennai to pursue his interest in acting. They claimed that he had changed his screen name to Dhanush and failed to take care of them.

However, denying their claim, the 33-year-old actor said that he was born to R. Krishnamoorthy and K. Vijayalakshmi in Chennai on July 28, 1983 and was named as R.K. Vengadesha Prabhu. He also claimed that his father and he had changed their names to Kasthoori Raja and Dhanush K. Raja respectively and notified it in the gazette.

Kathiresan and Meenakshi, also sought maintenance of Rs 65,000 from him.

The actor had requested the case to be quashed and had insisted that the entire statement is false, highlighting the maintenance sought and claiming that the couple was being used to blackmail and extract money from him.

Last month, Dhanush was instructed by the court to undergo a medical examination to verify his identification marks. However, the results of the same proved to be inconclusive.

Then the court had earlier suggested a DNA test to resolve the issue, but Dhanush and his lawyers had declined the suggestion the same the court has accepted and Justice P.N. Prakash passed operative portion of the order in the open court.

However aggrieved elder couple has said media they will approach Supreme court and demand for DNA test that they claim will certainly brings out the truth.
