NITI Aayog’s first vice-chairman Arvind Panagariya on Tuesday decided to relinquish his post to pursue academic interests less than three-years after he was appointed.

The sudden announcement sparked off speculation that all was not well with his relationship with the Prime Minister's Office ( PMO).

However, Panagariya denied the rumours of feeling 'suffocated' and said that he enjoyed the most cordial relationship with the PMO.

Also BJP Government under chairperson Narendra Modi Prepared the three-year action agenda a document which replaced the five-year plan by erstwhile planning commission., but in the last two years and eight months, Panagariya attempted changes , but many back fired and with in 3 years he ungracefully offered his resignation that exposes the complicated system Niti aayog has in built quotes agency sources.

During his entire tenure he Couldn’t complete the 15-year vision document, which could have been a long-term policy statement.

After Modi government took over and changed the very structure of Planning Commission but still the 15-year vision statement which was to be long-term policy document of the NITI Aayog remained incomplete during his tenure.

Not only that but the reports on poverty and cast census remained unfinished.
