Bengaluru journalist Dhanya Rajendran casual comment on a movie provoked vicious trolling on social media. Four fans of actor Vijay have been charged for their threats and abuse on Twitter targeting the journalist.

On Friday, Ms Rajendran tweeted after watching Shah Rukh Khan's latest release When Harry Met Sejal that it was "worse" than Vijay's Sura released a few years ago, because then she had stayed at least till the interval.

She was bombarded by more than 60000 in numbers of vulgar tweets and threats. At one point, the Dhanya tweeted: "It's clearly organised. There was a planned wave of trolls at the appointed time, 6 pm."

Tamilnadu Police based on her complaint said they are trying to identify four people who tweet using aliases. The police have booked a case under the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women Act among others.

Actor Vijay until now has not responded yet to the controversy. But source close to him confirmed "We are studying if this is a motivated campaign against the actor.

However Dhanya fight with Vijay fans exposed her other side in poor light of her habitual way of teasing / defaming the personal life of DMK leader M.Karunanithi in public.

However DMK Leader Son , DMK working president M.K.Stalin supported Dhanya rights of expression in his tweet.
