The Maeer’s MIT School in Pune, Maharastra issued directions to female students studying in the school to wear a specific colour of innerwear otherwise strict action would be taken against them.

Directions issued by MIT School along with inner-wear colour the length of the skirt to be worn by the girl students was also specified. The girls are only allowed to wear a white coloured or a skin coloured innerwear.

That’s not all; the highly gender sensitive school has also restricted the students from using the washroom at odd times. A specified time has been rolled out by school authorities for using washroom.

All the directions issued by the school were mentioned in the school diary and parents were asked to sign on the notice. "The girls are asked to wear either white or skin colour innerwear. They have even mentioned the length of the skirt to be worn by them." a parent told media .

Not only all the directions issued by the school were mentioned in the school diary but parents were asked to sign on the notice.

Going a step ahead the MIT School has also mentioned that the actions will be taken against those parents and students who fail to abide by the rules and regulations.

Shocked and upset on this development parents protested against a school’s policy of asking girls to wear a specific colour of underpants.

However, refuting all the allegations, the school authority Executive director of MIT Group of Institute, Dr. Suchitra Karad Nagare, said the intention behind taking such steps were 'very pure' and was not to trouble the parents and the students.

"The intention to give such specific directives in the school diary was very pure. We had some experiences in the past which made us take this decision. We did not have any hidden agenda," Dr Nagare said.
