A mahant (chief priest) of temple in Haryana's Fatehabad district has been arrested after a video of him allegedly raping a woman went viral. According to police, they arrested the 60-year-old priest of Baba Balaknath temple from Tohana town.

Baba Amarpuri, locally known as Billu, reportedly used to rape women and make the videos to blackmail them, ANI reported.

Baba Amarpuri has reportedly denied allegations against him saying, he's being "framed", say reports.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jogind Sharma told news agency that initially they got a tip-off about priest's alleged act. As investigations were underway, it was found that several videos of his alleged raping of women were already doing the rounds in the town.

The investigation into the case is in progress and the accused has been sent to police remand for five days. The police are also trying to find out if there are more people involved in it.

Police are investigating the case and say "suspicious articles" have been seized from his house during a raid.

"We have filed a case and have started an investigation in the matter," the police said.

This is not the first time that a self-styled godman has been accused of sexually exploiting women. Asaram Bapu, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh are some of the spiritual leaders who have been sentenced to life imprisonment for the crime.
